King Fahd International Airport
This is the world’s largest public airport in Saudi Arabia located in the city named as Dammam it is the world’s largest airport in terms of land and has a most beautiful infrastructure. Its design is started in early 1976 and completed after a year and its long timed construction is started in 1983 and it is start using for commercial use in November 1999. The name of this largest airport is the name of Saudi king Fahd bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud his time period of governing is from 1982 till his expiry in 2005.
This airport has total six levels, from six levels three levels used for passenger processing and its 3rd level is used for arrivals of people from other countries and its top level is used for departures and its 4th story is used for boarding process. The airport is too big its passenger terminal area is total about 3,521,000 square feet and it has 11 boarding bridges at an initial time only 7 bridges were used for international flight and the other left 4 gates are still not used and cannot attach to the custom and passport control system.
According to the one big source of the world is the Guinness Book of World Archives is remark as this airport is the world’s biggest airport in order of land area. This biggest airport is larger than the country named as Bahrain its total area is about 780 square KM. this largest airport has the world’s first duty-free stores for this purpose separate place allotted to it. And passenger related area is also separate where all people concern things are available there like banks, cafeterias and hotels.
The airport Mosque is constructed on the rooftop of the car park and in the mid of a redesigned area. It has an architectural beautiful design that associations up-to-date style with the old Islamic style. The Mosque provide accommodations to three thousand worshipers and also have access to it that can be simply enlarged from the traveller station through two surrounded, air-conditioned bridges well-appointed with moving ties.
Proposing was publicised to open in early 2010 for the building of a five-star airport hotel. According to the airport management, the hotel will be accessible positioned close to the traveller station building; but still nothing has been definite yet. But on 15 June 2015, the construction of the five-star hotel is started.
One more interesting thing about this biggest airport is
there is one station/terminal is always reserved for the Royal family of Saudi
and the official guests of the king and for the government official delegations
and for this terminal there are four bridges that used for their aircraft and
that linked the terminal. It is expensively furnished and ornamented, and
decorated with extreme beautiful exterior and added comprehensively redesigned
outsides and grounds.
This airport has an Awesome infrastructure having two main
runways of 4000 metres long and sixty metres wide and total twenty large sized
aircraft stands at the royal terminal and five medium sized aircraft and seven
small-sized aircraft standing capacity.
